Small band under the 150,000 km value = range covering 99% of tested cars. Medians describe the typical car; individual cars vary widely. Not included in this dataset: Kia e-Niro/EV6, BMW i3, Hyundai Ioniq Electric and most Chinese-brand models – see their model pages for other sources.
Chinese-brand & Chinese-built EVs: what data exists
Apart from the Polestar 2 (in the table above), none of these models is in a large published dataset yet. The figures below are the range of the individual results we have found – mostly single-car (n=1) test certificates – not averages. Follow the links for every data point and its source. Model averages can't tell you about the car in front of you. An independent battery test (typically a short OBD plug-in test, some remote) gives an SoH figure and often a certificate you can use when negotiating.
- AVILOO – Independent OBD-based battery test (FLASH / Premium) with certificate; available via partners in the UK and EU.
- Generational – UK remote battery health assessment and certificate, used by dealers and fleets.
