Used BYD Atto 3 battery health & degradation data
Last updated: · 3 sourced data points
BYD's compact SUV uses BYD's own LFP "Blade" cells. Published independent results are dealer AVILOO certificates for single cars, from the UK and Australia. Sources: EV Database, AVILOO GmbH.
Battery options: 60.48 kWh LFP "Blade" battery (UK cars); AVILOO also lists 49.92 and 58.56 kWh versions sold in other markets.
Chemistry: LFP (lithium iron phosphate), BYD Blade prismatic cells. (EV Database)
Limited data so far – contribute yours
We have 3 sourced data points for the BYD Atto 3, all from individual cars (n=1). Single-car results are anecdotes, not typical values. If you own one, sharing your SoH reading (with mileage and how it was measured) helps every buyer.
All data points
| Variant | Mileage | SoH | Type | Sample | Measured by | Source (date) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Atto 3 60.48 kWh (LFP Blade), UK car | 23,332 km ≈ 14,498 mi |
96.9% | Single car | n=1 | AVILOO FLASH Test (independent SoH) | Car360 (2025-11-27) Single car (n=1). Published mileage 14,498 miles. Car's own BMS SoH on the same certificate: 97%. |
| Atto 3 60.48 kWh (LFP Blade) | 39,923 km ≈ 24,807 mi |
95.1% | Single car | n=1 | AVILOO FLASH Test (independent SoH) | Carma (2026-08-14) Single car (n=1), Australia (hot climate). Car's own BMS SoH on the same certificate: 95%. |
| Atto 3 60.48 kWh (LFP Blade) | 49,050 km ≈ 30,478 mi |
95.4% | Single car | n=1 | AVILOO FLASH Test (independent SoH) | Carma (2026-05-26) Single car (n=1), Australia (hot climate). |
Data gaps: Single-car certificates only (n=1). Two of three are Australian cars (hotter climate). BYD is not in the Swedish Carla study and Atto 3 is not in AVILOO's 2026 20-model report. Owner contributions welcome.
What to check when buying a used Atto 3
- Compare the AVILOO figure with the BMS figure on the certificate – on the published Atto 3 certificates they were within about 1 point. (Car360, Carma)
- Compare any test result with the ranges above and with the ADAC rule of thumb: at least 92% at 50,000 km, 88% at 100,000 km, 84% at 150,000 km, 80% at 200,000 km. (ADAC)
How to check the battery on a used Atto 3
- Ask the seller to fully charge the car (ideally a full AC charge) before you inspect or test it, so the battery management system can balance the cells – MG, for example, says a full slow charge is the only way for its battery to reach the balanced "equalisation" state. (MG Motor Europe)
- Ask for an independent battery test. AVILOO lists FLASH-test support for the Atto 3 49.92, 58.56 and 60.48 kWh packs shown above, so a dealer certificate or a mobile tester can give an SoH figure you can compare with the results on this page. (AVILOO GmbH)
Battery warranty (UK)
BYD (warranty manual for EEA, UK and Switzerland): power battery 8 years (96 months) or 250,000 km (155,350 miles), whichever comes first, with a minimum of 70% capacity retention (SOH ≥ 70%). Basic vehicle cover 6 years / 150,000 km. Gradual capacity loss above the 70% threshold is not covered. Confirm the terms for the specific car with BYD. Source: BYD, checked 2026-10-20. Always confirm the terms for the specific car with the manufacturer.

Owner-reported and listing values are single cars (n=1) read from the car, an app or an OBD tool – useful examples, not averages. Range-retention figures (Recurrent) measure range, not capacity. Full details: methodology & all sources.

Model averages can't tell you about the car in front of you. An independent battery test (typically a short OBD plug-in test, some remote) gives an SoH figure and often a certificate you can use when negotiating.
- AVILOO – Independent OBD-based battery test (FLASH / Premium) with certificate; available via partners in the UK and EU.
- Generational – UK remote battery health assessment and certificate, used by dealers and fleets.
