Used Vauxhall/Opel Mokka-e (Mokka Electric) battery health & degradation data
Last updated: · 11 sourced data points
Vauxhall's electric small SUV (sold as the Opel Mokka-e outside the UK), on sale in the UK since 2021. The 11 UK dealer AVILOO certificates we found for the 50 kWh version (10 cars, 6,000 to 26,000 miles) ranged from 94.0% to 100.1%. Sources: EV Database, Car360, [2], [3].
Battery options: Mokka-e (UK listings April 2021 – January 2024): 50 kWh nominal / 46.3 kWh usable NMC622; Mokka-e 54 kWh (2024) and Mokka Electric (from November 2024): 54 kWh / 50.8 kWh usable NMC811. EV Database lists the same 50 kWh pack specification for the Corsa-e, e-208 and e-2008. (EV Database, [2], [3], [4])
Chemistry: NMC622 prismatic cells (216 cells, 108s2p) in the 50 kWh pack; NMC811 (102 cells, 102s1p) in the 54 kWh pack, per EV Database. (EV Database, [2])

Data gaps: No AVILOO median or other large study covers the Mokka-e itself (AVILOO publishes one for the Corsa-e, which uses the same 50 kWh pack). Every figure here is a single UK car at 6,000–26,000 miles (one car tested twice); there is no data for the 54 kWh version or above about 41,000 km, and no published UK battery replacement price.
What to check when buying a used Mokka-e
- Check which battery the car has: 50 kWh (46.3 kWh usable, 2021–2023) or 54 kWh (50.8 kWh usable, 2024-on, including the renamed Mokka Electric). All our data is from 50 kWh cars. (EV Database, [2], [3])
- Don't rely on the car's own SoH figure. On the UK AVILOO certificates we found, the Mokka-e's BMS read up to 2 points lower than AVILOO on some cars and up to 4.6 points higher on others (two showed 103%). (Car360, [2], [3])
- Run the GOV.UK recall check on the registration. DVSA lists R/2023/008 and R/2025/119 for Mokkas built June – December 2022 (traction battery control unit and Battery Monitoring Unit software; the first could cause a loss of propulsion) and R/2023/139 (air-conditioning compressor wiring that could shut down the powertrain, Mokka-e built Sep – Oct 2020). Ask for proof the work was done. (DVSA, GOV.UK)
- Check the warranty: Vauxhall UK covers the battery for 8 years or 100,000 miles (at least 70% capacity), transferable; cars sold under the "Electric All-In" offer had at least 80% for the first 3 years. A Vauxhall technician checks battery health at a service, so ask for the service history. (Vauxhall UK, [2])
- Compare any test result with the ranges above and with the ADAC rule of thumb: at least 92% at 50,000 km, 88% at 100,000 km, 84% at 150,000 km, 80% at 200,000 km. (ADAC)
Battery warranty (UK)
Vauxhall UK: 8 years / 100,000 miles battery warranty, transferable, guaranteeing at least 70% charging capacity. Some new cars were sold under Vauxhall's "Electric All-In" offer with at least 80% for the first 3 years from first registration, then 70% (terms seen 2026-10-21; that page now redirects). Check the car's paperwork and confirm with Vauxhall. Source: Vauxhall UK, checked 2026-10-30. Always confirm the terms for the specific car with the manufacturer.

We are not paid by these test providers. How we make money.
Model averages can't tell you about the car in front of you. An independent battery test (typically a short OBD plug-in test, some remote) gives an SoH figure and often a certificate you can use when negotiating.
- AVILOO – Independent OBD-based battery test (FLASH / Premium) with certificate; available via partners in the UK and EU.
- Generational – UK OBD plug-in test with certificate (SoH, range, remaining warranty, cell balance); sold through dealers and independent mobile testers.
- Moba – Postal OBD kit: you run the test yourself and post the box back for a digital battery certificate (Europe – check vehicle support and delivery country).
