How to check a used Škoda Enyaq battery before you buy (UK)
Published · Last updated · based on 24 sourced Enyaq data points and 38 sources
The Enyaq is one of the most-tested used EVs in Europe, and it uses the same MEB battery family as the VW ID.4. This guide covers how to tell which battery a car has, what the UK recall file shows, the Škoda warranty, how far to trust the car's own battery figure, and how to compare a test result with thousands of tested Enyaqs.
All figures with method and date: used Škoda Enyaq battery data. Going to a viewing? Make a printable list of questions for the seller.
1. Identify the battery

EV Database UK listings, checked 2026-10-31. Coupé versions use the same packs. Dates are order dates; cars were registered later.
- On early cars the number in the name (60, 80) is not the usable kWh. A dealer certificate usually prints the pack as "58 kWh" or "77 kWh".
- Almost all test data on used Enyaqs is for the 58 and 77 kWh NMC packs. We have no data for the Enyaq 50 or the 2026-on LFP Enyaq 60, which as an LFP pack may age differently.
2. Check the recalls
When we downloaded DVSA's recall file on 2026-10-31 it listed no recalls for the Enyaq; its Škoda rows are for other models such as the Octavia, Superb, Fabia and Citigo E (DVSA). The 2026 battery recalls for the VW ID.3 and ID.4 (see our ID.3 & ID.4 guide) are listed under Volkswagen only, so don't assume they apply to an Enyaq – or that an Enyaq is clear.
The file can lag behind new campaigns. Run the free GOV.UK recall check on the registration (GOV.UK) and ask a Škoda dealer whether any service campaigns, including battery software updates, are open for that car.
3. Check the battery warranty
Škoda UK: high-voltage battery covered for defects for 8 years or 100,000 miles (160,000 km), whichever comes first; for fully electric Škodas total capacity is guaranteed not to fall below 70% of the original usable capacity in that period. Cars bought with the UK electric car grant from 2025 get 80% for the first 3 years / 40,000 miles, then 70%. Confirm the start date and terms for the specific car with Škoda. (Škoda UK, checked 2026-10-31)
- The first UK Enyaqs were ordered from May 2021, so the oldest cars reach the 8-year limit from 2029; a high-mileage car may reach 100,000 miles first.
- Our battery warranty checker works out the time and mileage left from the registration date.
- Škoda recommends charging to 80% for daily use and 100% before long trips (Škoda UK). Ask the seller how the car was charged.
4. Get a battery reading you can trust
On 16 dealer AVILOO certificates for the Enyaq in our data, the car's own battery figure (from its battery management system, BMS) was lower than AVILOO's independent result on 9, higher on 5 and within half a point on 2. The biggest gap was on the highest-mileage UK car: 84.0% from the car against 88.0% from AVILOO at 130,148 km. So the car's own figure is a rough guide, not proof either way.
- Ask for an independent test such as an AVILOO battery test (AVILOO GmbH). UK options and prices are on our UK battery test comparison.
- Read any certificate the seller gives you with our certificate guide, and check the mileage and date on it match the car.
- Ask which software version the car runs. Carla's Swedish data for Enyaqs over 100,000 km gives a separate average for cars on software 3.x (Carla AB).
5. Compare the result with other Enyaqs
| Mileage | Median SoH | Central 99% of cars |
|---|---|---|
| 50,000 km (≈31,069 mi) | 95.1% | 89.2%–97.8% |
| 100,000 km (≈62,137 mi) | 92.7% | 86.2%–96.1% |
| 150,000 km (≈93,206 mi) | 91.0% | 83.7%–95.2% |

| Swedish retailer AVILOO tests, Enyaq iV 77 kWh (software 3.x) | not published | over 100,000 km | 92.9% average | Carla AB (2026-07-08) |
| UK dealer AVILOO certificates, 77 kWh | 6 (one each) | 29,718–72,081 km | 94.8%–99.5% range | single certificates |
| UK dealer AVILOO certificates, 58 kWh | 8 (one each) | 31,942–130,148 km | 88.0%–97.0% range | single certificates |
- The VW ID.4 uses the same packs; its AVILOO median at 100,000 km is 92.5% from 24,445 tests, almost the same as the Enyaq's 92.7%. Compare both on the battery degradation chart, or get a quick estimate with the battery health estimator.
- As a rule of thumb for all EVs, ADAC expects at least 92% at 50,000 km, 88% at 100,000 km, 84% at 150,000 km, 80% at 200,000 km (ADAC).

6. Replacement cost
We have not found a published UK price for a new Enyaq battery, from Škoda or an independent specialist, that shows how it was worked out, so we don't quote one. Inside the warranty a failed or excessively degraded battery is Škoda's cost. Outside it, the MEB pack is made of modules, so ask for a written quote after diagnosis. Our EV battery replacement cost guide explains what is known.

Model averages can't tell you about the car in front of you. An independent battery test (typically a short OBD plug-in test, some remote) gives an SoH figure and often a certificate you can use when negotiating.
- AVILOO – Independent OBD-based battery test (FLASH / Premium) with certificate; available via partners in the UK and EU.
- Generational – UK OBD plug-in test with certificate (SoH, range, remaining warranty, cell balance); sold through dealers and independent mobile testers.
- Moba – Postal OBD kit: you run the test yourself and post the box back for a digital battery certificate (Europe – check vehicle support and delivery country).
Prices change – check the provider's site. Provider names are used for identification only. Compare all UK options and prices: EV battery health check UK.

FAQ
What battery size does my used Škoda Enyaq have?
EV Database lists three main pack sizes on UK Enyaqs, all from the VW Group MEB platform. The iV 60 / Enyaq 60 has 58 kWh usable (62 kWh gross; 59 kWh on 2025-26 cars). The iV 80, 80x, vRS and the later Enyaq 85 / 85x have 77 kWh usable (82 kWh gross), and the 2025 vRS has 79 kWh. A short-lived Enyaq 50 (2024-25) has 52 kWh. The 2026-on Enyaq 60 uses an LFP pack. The badge number on early cars (60, 80) is not the battery size in kWh, so check the V5C, the advert or the Škoda service record.
What is a good battery health (SoH) for a used Škoda Enyaq?
AVILOO's 2026 report covers 20,303 Enyaq tests (all battery sizes together): the median SoH was 95.1% at 50,000 km, 92.7% at 100,000 km and 91.0% at 150,000 km. On 14 UK dealer AVILOO certificates (29,718–130,148 km) we have 88.0%–99.5%. A car clearly below the median for its mileage deserves questions and an independent test.
How long is the Škoda Enyaq battery warranty in the UK?
Škoda UK covers the high-voltage battery for 8 years or 100,000 miles (160,000 km), whichever comes first, from the start of the Škoda warranty. For fully electric Škodas the capacity is guaranteed not to fall below 70% of the original usable capacity in that period. Škoda says cars bought with the UK electric car grant from 2025 get 80% for the first 3 years / 40,000 miles. The first UK Enyaqs (2021) reach the 8-year limit from 2029.
Are there battery recalls on the Škoda Enyaq in the UK?
When we downloaded DVSA's recall file on 2026-10-31 it listed no recalls for the Enyaq at all. The 2026 battery recalls for the VW ID.3 and ID.4 are listed under Volkswagen only. The file can lag behind new campaigns, so still run the free GOV.UK recall check on the registration and ask a Škoda dealer whether any campaigns are open for that car.
How much does a replacement Škoda Enyaq battery cost in the UK?
We have not found a published UK price for a new Enyaq battery from Škoda or from an independent specialist that shows how it was worked out, so we don't quote one. Inside the 8-year / 100,000-mile warranty a failed or excessively degraded battery is Škoda's cost. Outside it, the MEB pack is built from modules, so ask a specialist for a written quote after diagnosis before accepting a whole new pack.
